Friday night was the replay from the drawn grand final in 2010. Most footy fans tipped Collingwood based on recent form. Both teams came out of the Anzac clashes with Essendon and Sydney without the four points and Collingwood needed the win to keep their top four spot alive.
The Saturday games started with GWS Giants and the Bombers. At half time the Giants were up by 21 points but like they have the last few weeks the giants young team ran out of legs and he Bombers won the game by 39 points.
The next game of the round brought in form Port Adelaide head to head with struggling North Melbourne. Port's coach Ken Hinkley went down with the flu earlier in the week so he couldn't make the trip down to Tasmania. North came out 10 point victors and their finals campaign is defiantly not over yet.
Hawthorn and Adelaide. The preliminary final from last season set to be another thriller in Adelaide. Hawks coming in strong favourites but Adelaide had other ideas. In the second quarter the Crows came back booting 4 goals to the Hawks 1 but they lacked class and Hawthorn came out 11 point winners. A good effort by the Crows without star forward Taylor Walker.
Fremantle were easy winners in Gold Coast and Geelong won comfortably over Richmond. Two respected Cats played big milestones with Corey Enright and Steve Johnson playing 250 and 200 games.
Brisbane struggled in Sydney losing by 10 goals and Carlton ( as everyone predicted) were easy victors against Melbourne with Betts, Gartlett and Murphy having another great game for the Blues.
West Coast won against the young Bulldogs lineup hoping to cement a top 8 spot.
Great report. Now I'm up to date with my weekly afl fix.
